Study Programs

If you want to study linguistics at FAU, you can choose between a variety of degree programs. In particular, there are the following Master programs:

• Master Linguistik,
• European Master in Lexicography (Erasmus Mundus),
• Master Antike Sprachen und Kulturen mit Schwerpunkt Indogermanistik und Indoiranistik,
• Master English Studies: Linguistics and Applied Linguistics (taught entirely in English),
• Master Germanistik mit linguistischem Schwerpunkt.

Furthermore, linguistics forms a part of a number of other MA programs such as Arabistik, English Studies (without focus) and Romanistik.

There are also two linguistic BA-programs (to be studied in combination with another subject), namely

• Indogermanistik und Indoiranistik
• Linguistische Informatik.

Furthermore, all Lehramtsstudiengänge offered by the Department of English, American and Romance Studies and the Department of German and Comparative Studies and the BA-programs English and American Studies (taught in English), Frankoromanistik, Germanistik, Iberoromanistik, Italoromanistik, Orientalistik involve a linguistics component and allow specialization in linguistics.
